In the early 20th century, golfers either walked with their golf bags or hired someone to carry their clubs. It was not until 1932 that American Merle Williams modified the first electric golf cart for his father who had difficulty in moving, and this steel creation officially entered the world of golf. Initially, it was regarded as a "symbol of laziness" and was resisted by traditionalists - after all, at that time, walking 18 holes was considered the most basic respect for the sport.

But pragmatism eventually defeated stubbornness. After World War II, as golf became more popular in the United States, the scale of golf courses continued to expand, and the convenience of golf carts gradually emerged. In 1951, the Ryder Cup allowed golf carts to appear in practice rounds for the first time, marking its acceptance by the mainstream. By the 1980s, electric golf carts had become standard equipment, and even gave rise to "golf cart etiquette": for example, driving on the edge of the fairway to avoid crushing the skirt of the green, and actively giving way when passing other cars - these detailed rules are precisely the microscopic reflection of sports civilization.

Today's golf carts have long surpassed the attributes of tools. The customized golf carts at top golf courses are equipped with leather seats, onboard refrigerators, and even GPS distance measurement systems. The colors of the golf carts will echo the vegetation of the golf courses in different seasons: cherry blossom pink in spring, pine green in summer, and maple red in autumn, making steel and nature reach a wonderful reconciliation. At some seaside golf courses, when an open-top golf cart passes through the coconut grove, the sea breeze lifts the corners of the players' clothes, and the wheels stir up fine sand. At this moment, the golf cart is more like a boat sailing in the green ocean.
